Still here
Hey world, how it’s going? It’s been a while - to be honest life has been throwing some (happy) curveballs and somehow it has been over a year since the last post!
But what has been going on?
Well first of all, I started to work as an independent contractor for a travel company during April 2025, and decided to simply focus on work and put blogging and photography on hold for a bit - although this is ‘just’ a fun hobby and not my profession at all, both still requires some brain power (read: I’m not making any money out of the blog or from photography since moving to Canada). I’ve actually been working for travel industry for over 8 years - including 7 years back in Finland and now almost 2 years in Canada.
A new full time job combined with a first summer in British Columbia, made me lose my motivation towards anything else than making money and exploring outdoors - summer 2025 was truly a summer of hikes and outdoorsy stuff. This obviously means that I actually have plenty of material for the upcoming posts, as hike experiences don’t really expire (also from the winter!).
Then the autumn and winter came and we also had plenty of visitors coming from Finland - first my husband’s sister with her family, then my father and in November one of my best friends came to entertain us. We even went to Toronto to see Sabrina Carpenter and that was such a fun time - really wish I could go back and re-live everything.
Anyhow, autumn and winter also brought another news - not only that I would start out as a full-time employee at the same travel company I worked as a contractor for, but we also found out that we were expecting a little human. That little human is currently, in June 2026, sleeping on her bassinet on our tiny living room, while I’m writing this text.
So yes, you may say that lot of things have happened, but good things - been busy living, but I really miss writing my thoughts here on my blog. I hope that during my maternity leave I have some time to come back here to write our outdoor adventures from last and this year, as there has been some really cool experience I’d love to share with you.
Now I can hear the little human screaming, so let’s wrap this text up - I hope to be back, but for now just a reminder that yes - I’m still here. :)
