September views from Granville Island

I bet it was just July and now we are in September already? How the time flies when you are very deep in the newborn trenches or what! Luckily my mom and sister came over to help out a bit, let’s just say that after almost 3 months being just the three of us extra pair of hands were more than welcomed.

Watch out for the seagulls, those will steal your food

Visitors abroad also meant acting as ‘a tour guide’ and showing our guests our beautiful home surroundings. My husband and I have been living in Vancouver for over 2 years now and been blessed to have multiple visitors from Finland during this time. It’s always extremely fun to show the surroundings and even places we’ve already visited multiple times, get a new feeling when exploring with people from our original home.

One of the spots we always take our friends/family is Granville Island - and yes, this is one of the most touristy things to do, but if you ask me totally worth it. Even if just to grab a pizza from Pizza Pzazz - it’s delicious (sorry no photos though, was too busy eating)!

Parking can cause some struggles, but somehow we were extremely lucky and found a spot straight away. I also enjoy taking the ferry from downtown side and like to advocate public transit in general, but let’s be honest here - getting from North Vancouver to Granville Island, with a newborn, is way easier with a car.

My mom is big theater nerd, but unfortunately due to schedules we couldn’t enjoy any shows this time, but hopefully one day we could see a Artsclub Theatre Company-show. Other than that I would consider our visit to Granville Island was successful as seagulls didn’t steal our food. This has happened to few of my friends, so watch out for seagulls when having that delicious bite outdoors…
