During this photoshoot I also got to play around a bit with camera settings as I wanted to practice capturing motion blur. Model had to spin quite a lot, but luckily a) she didn’t lose her balance and b) we got some extremely atmospheric shots that we both were obsessed with!

I just wanted to come here to say quick hello and also share few shots from previous weeks. I was honored to take birthday photographs of this beautiful girl who turned 12. In their culture turning 12 means transformation to being a woman and the goal of the photoshoot was to capture this, while keeping girl’s own, unique personality in mind.

Last weekend our small group of 4 went outdoors to enjoy beautiful sunny day, to experience Big Cedar and Kennedy Falls. To be honest we decided the hike on the same week - Vancouver & always changing weather forecast can sometimes make it a bit hard to make plans well in advance.

February might not be my favourite month, but if there is something I ADORE it’s Valentine’s Day. All of the pink hearts that cover up the store windows, little signs & chocolate boxes saying ‘my love’ and other cheesy quotes just have a special place in my heart. And I’m not even a romantic person!

Before we get started, I want to acknowledge that the title of this post is the most random ever. Like portraits and flash photography work well together, but meatballs…??? Well, let’s just say that the first two would not have existed without the meatballs. I’ll explain this shortly don’t you worry.

Over one night, world had turned into a real life winter wonderland. Snowflakes fluttered calmly down to the ground, covering the last tip of the lush green grass. Only people around were the ones either with overly excited dogs, or children, whose laugh could be heard far away as they were sliding down with their sleds.
